In a recent blog post, ZDNet’s Jason Perlow suggested that the main obstacle to Windows on Arm is the hardware. If only the hardware were available, we could have a great experience because the software and developer tools are ready. This is simply not true when you consider the state of developer tools on Windows for Arm. Microsoft’s official developer toolchain is quite bad on Arm. Microsoft doesn’t provide Arm versions of Visual Studio, VS Build Tools, or even just Microsoft Visual C++; they expect Arm developers to cross-compile C++ software on an x86 host or emulate x86 software....

The controller bar is the headline feature update in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22616 for the Dev and Beta Channels for Windows Insiders, which also comes with numerous bug fixes. The bar is a preview of a new view of Xbox Game Bar that opens when users pair or connect an Xbox controller to a PC. Discovered by Bishop Fox security consultant Chris Davis and publicly disclosed on Wednesday, the bug, tracked as CVE-2021-28114, impacts Froala version 3.2.6 and earlier. Froala is a lightweight What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) HTML rich text editor for developers and content creators. Wappalyzer estimates that Froala is in use by approximately 30,000 web domains. According to Bishop Fox, the WYSIWYG editor contains a security flaw in its HTML sanitization parsing protocol, allowing attackers to bypass existing XSS protections....

The collaboration will bring embedded 5G Ultra Wideband connectivity to Audi’s US lineup, starting with select models for the 2024 model year. Verizon’s “Ultra Wideband” network uses high-band, ultra-wide millimeter wave spectrum to deliver high-speed 5G. That’s different from its “5G Nationwide” network, which leverages 5G and 4G. EirGrid last year warned Dublin faced rolling blackouts due to excess demand, primarily from existing and new major data centers run by cloud giants.
