Visual Studio 2022 is the first release of a 64-bit version of Visual Studio. By making Visual Studio 64-bit, officials said that they expect the release to make better use of all system resources, especially when working with more complex solutions over longer periods of time. According to Microsoft, during early VS 2022 testing, customers were able to run the VS IDE for days, even with solutions containing 700 or more projects....

Microsoft officials said the current Partner Network is comprised of more than 400,000 global organizations around the world. A powerful surveillance tool called Pegasus, made by Israeli firm NSO and licensed only to governments, was allegedly used in India to snoop on mobile phones of up to 1,000 people over the past six years, according to a groundbreaking global collaborative investigation by a consortium called the Pegasus Project. The Project comprised more than 80 journalists working for 17 media organisations around the world, including the Guardian, India’s The Wire and the Washington Post....

Both new tools fit into NetSuite’s “360 framework,” Paul Farrell, NetSuite’s VP of Product Management, told ZDNet. The framework “brings together new analytics, actions and transactions from across the suite,” he explained – helping users in particular roles best leverage NetSuite’s tools. Norton’s revenues for the third quarter of FY 2022, which ended December 31, 2021, was $702 million, a 10% jump over the $639 million posted for the year-ago quarter. Net income grew even more steeply, rising 16% to reach $202 million, or $0.34 per share, compared to the $178 million, or $0.30 per share posted for the third quarter of FY 2021. Both figures were spurred on by $752 million in new books, which represented a 10% rise and pushed the company’s direct customer count up by 2....

The decision comes after an unknown number of voters were unable to cast a vote during local elections at the end of last year due to the iVote online voting system suffering a failure for a portion of the voting period. An NSWEC investigation into the local election bungle found the system failure impacted the outcomes of three local elections. The NSWEC had already shelved the iVote system for “extensive reconfiguration and testing” to resolve the issues encountered during local elections, but the latest move indicates the system will not be used until at least March 25 next year....

The framework, which was developed by the NSW Advisory Committee led by NSW chief data scientist Ian Oppermann, has been designed to ensure AI-based government projects are safe, ethical, and can be integrated with future technologies. The 2018-2020 National Road Safety Action Plan sets out targets that require 90% of travel on national highways and 80% on state highways to meet a three-star or better safety standard.
