There are numerous factors at play here: the growth of automation, for example, means that machines and software are now able to replace routine, low-skilled tasks on factory floors and in the back office. Just 14% delayed or canceled sustainability initiatives. The increased focus on sustainability is notable given that 55% of survey respondents said they delayed or canceled at least one technology project in the last year as the pandemic upended everyday life. The press release doesn’t outline the specific perks the Instacart Mastercard will include. However, there are several perks that all World Elite Mastercards typically include. Cardholders can expect exclusive offers with DoorDash, HelloFresh, and Lyft. Protections include cell phone insurance and ID Theft Protection. It should come as no surprise to regular ZDNet readers that Microsoft 365 support on IE 11 was ending on August 17 – exactly one year after Microsoft announced it would end IE11 support for its key Office 365/Microsoft 365 apps. While support from Microsoft has ended, apps will not immediately stop working. However, Microsoft 365 users can expect a deteriorating experience from here on if they try to keep using IE11 for web versions of apps like Teams and Outlook....

Raspberry Pi users may need to consider applying a recent Raspbian OS update to their devices, particularly if they are currently configured to allow external SSH connections. According to Russian security firm Doctor Web, the malware Linux.MulDrop.14 exclusively targets Raspberry Pi devices to use their processing power to mine a cryptocurrency. Doctor Web discovered the Raspberry Pi mining malware after its Linux honeypot machine became infected with it. The malware uses a simple Bash script to attempt to connect to Raspberry Pi devices configured to accept external SSH connections....
“Earliest evidence we’ve found so far of #Log4J exploit is 2021-12-01 04:36:50 UTC,” Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince said on Twitter. “That suggests it was in the wild at least 9 days before publicly disclosed. However, don’t see evidence of mass exploitation until after public disclosure.” Cisco Talos said in a blog post that it observed activity for the vulnerability known as CVE-2021-44228 from December 2, and those looking for indicators of compromise should extend their searches to at least that far back....
Microsoft says it created the term to describe an emerging category of malware spawned by the growing (but volatile) market capitalization of digital assets, aka cryptocurrency, which peaked at almost $3 trillion in 2021. Cryware is a type of info-stealer malware that targets online passwords stored in a browser but also seeks to harvest private keys from internet-connected cryptocurrency ‘hot wallets’ stored on a device (versus cold wallets that hold cryptocurrencies offline)....
McAfee worked with Peloton in March to fix the issue and Peloton has since released an update that solves the vulnerability. In a blog post, McAfee’s Advanced Threat Research team researchers Sam Quinn and Mark Bereza explained that the flaw was with the bike’s Android Verified Boot process, which they said was initially out of scope and left the Peloton vulnerable. Quinn and Bereza shared a video of their work demonstrating how they were able to bypass the Android Verified Boot process and compromise the Android OS....
Microsoft has just made its DirectStorage application programming interface (API) available to all PC games developers. It’s a new storage API that hails from Microsoft’s DirectX graphics card technologies. Microsoft promises the newly available DirectStorage software development kit (SDK) “begins a new era of fast load times” by letting developers use the latest storage devices, namely NVMe SSDs. Update: A Microsoft spokesperson asked me to reword this last sentence as follows: “Microsoft will support Exchange 2016 and 2019 until October 14, 2025. And after October 14, 2025, only the next version of Exchange Server will be supported.” Officials said because of migration enhancements coming to Exchange Server 2019 (which I explain below), the tight support cut-off period between the support end-date and the new version introduction will be doable, in their view....

Ally.io is designed to give employees visibility into a company’s strategic goals and work processes. Microsoft says it also plans to improve the integration between Ally.io’s technology and Teams and integrate it with Office, Power BI and the rest of the Microsoft 365 apps and services.
