The ASMN was formed last September by over 30 Australian space manufacturing companies. It is led by Gilmour Space Technologies with support from the Queensland government. As part of the funding, Gilmour Space Technologies will work with partners and universities to create a manufacturing and test hub, and a manufacturing facility to produce launch vehicles and satellites. The funding will also be used to support Queensland-based Bowen Orbital Spaceport, which is preparing its launch pad to fire rockets into orbit....

Starting in March, cardholders will earn rewards with select merchants near where they live. When it launches, a reward tab will be available in the app where users can see different merchant offerings, the amount of cashback they can earn and monitor how much they’re accumulating. Everything will be handled within the Dayforce Wallet app, and rewards are currently offered with over 100,000 merchants. The rewards are automatically added back into the wallet and can be used with the card....

In a chart bearing percentages and without helpful grid lines, Intel has claimed its Core i9-12900HK is able to top Apple’s silicon at power loads above 35 watts, although it also shows the M1 Max is able to operate at much lower wattages, down to around 20 watts, while the i9 peters out around the 30 watt mark. For completeness, Intel also said an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX can top the M1 Max at 25 watts, but otherwise has fairly flat performance and is eventually topped by both Apple and Intel 11th and 12th generation silicon....

Busuu offers 12 different language courses to more than 500,000 paying subscribers and said it has serviced 120 million users since its founding in 2008. The company has offices in London and Madrid. Chegg CEO Dan Rosensweig said the acquisition would allow the company to drive further into international markets and increase Busuu’s growth in the US market. “The addition of Busuu gives Chegg the unique opportunity to expand our business while also adding tremendous value to our existing users....

The FBI and Department of Justice caused a minor furor on Thursday when both came out harshly against The Strengthening American Cybersecurity Act, landmark cybersecurity legislation that sailed through the Senate unanimously on Tuesday. The act forces critical infrastructure organizations to report cyberattacks to CISA within 72 hours and ransomware payments within 24 hours. In statements to Politico, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco trashed the bipartisan bill because the FBI and DOJ are not included alongside CISA....

The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has published a new ‘CISA Insights’ document aimed at all US organizations, not just critical infrastructure operators. The checklist of actions is CISA’s response to this week’s cyberattacks on Ukraine’s systems and websites, which the country’s officials have blamed on hackers linked to Russian intelligence services. Ukraine officials also told media that dozens of systems in at least two government agencies were wiped during an attack last week....

According to research performed by Citizen Lab, Apple’s application of filters, which pertain to derogatory, racist, sexual, and sometimes political content, censor more than what is required by a certain region’s moderation regulations. The research looked at keyword filtering rules used by Apple to moderate content across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Canada, and the United States. While the six jurisdictions each have different regulatory and political environments that may affect Apple’s filtering decisions and content moderation policies, Citizen Lab found the censorship applied within China also bled into both Hong Kong and Taiwan, with much of this censorship exceeding Apple’s legal obligations....

The latest updates will be available this week for the Coros Pace 2, Apex Pro, Vertix, and Vertix 2. The Coros smartphone app also receives a couple of updates to improve the Coros experience. The Coros Apex Pro and Vertix were released three years ago and will be receiving nearly all of the key updates. In March it was revealed the agency was spending around AU$100,000 each month on hosting, but had allocated AU$200,000 each month for “future changes”. At the time, the app’s price tag to the end of January was AU$6.75 million and hosting was just over AU$900,000. The IT giant reported second quarter net income of $880 million, or $1.05 a share, on revenue of $26.12 billion, up 15% from a year ago. Non-GAAP earnings for the second quarter $2.24 a share. Wall Street was expecting second quarter revenue of $25.53 billion with non-GAAP earnings of $2.03 a share. CFO Tom Sweet said the company said it was also seeing growth in its high-growth enterprise gear such as VxRail and PowerStore....

Domino’s said international franchisees using Domino’s Pizza Global Online Ordering (GOLO) platform will be able to opt-in to add a what3words address field at checkout. When enabled, the company said that its system helps ensure deliveries can be made to the customer’s exact location. Delivery drivers often struggle with directions because many maps simply drop a pin into the center of a building and don’t offer instructions on where the entrances are....
