The pandemic reshaped ideas and practices for how elementary, middle and high school students — and their teachers — learned and taught computer science (CS for short). Kim Wilkens is a doctoral student at the University of Virginia. She’s studying K-8 computer science education. Dubbed TangleBot, the malware first appeared in September and once installed gains access to many different permissions required for eavesdropping on communications and stealing sensitive data, including the ability to monitor all user activity, use the camera, listen to audio, monitor the location of the device, and more. As first reported on BleepingComputer, this new malware, dubbed CronRAT, hides in scheduled tasks on Linux servers by being set for execution on February 31, a date that doesn’t exist. Discovered and named by e-commerce security specialist Sansec, CronRAT is part of a growing trend in Linux server-focused Magecart malware. CronRAT is used to enable server-side Magecart data theft. Glassdoor’s 25 Best Jobs List for 2022 found that software developers, data scientists, IT architects and full-stack engineers dominate the top spots when measured by salary, job satisfaction and the number of job openings. These three factors were taken from ratings from “hundreds of thousands” of employee reviews on the Glassdoor platform, which were combined with the number of role vacancies to create an overall ‘job score’. Nearly half (47%) of companies currently use low-code or no-code in their organizations, a TechRepublic Premium survey of 414 managers finds. . Fredrick Brown, a 40-year-old from Las Vegas, was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering charges. Brown’s actions led to $1.5 million in losses after he targeted more than 3,300 members of the US military community through a multinational fraud ring. Brown worked with four other people to defraud both service members, their dependents and civilians employed by the Department of Defense....
