The series of vulnerabilities have been discovered in Nexus Control Panel, which powers current models of Translogic’s pneumatic tube system (PTS) stations by Swisslog Healthcare. Using the new JetBrains Gateway IDE launcher, the connection to the remote machine is via SSH and currently only supports Linux physical and virtual machines as servers. “The JetBrains Client runs locally and provides the user interface for the IDE backend. It’s based on the IntelliJ Platform and feels just like a full IntelliJ-based IDE – it has the same editor, code completion, navigation, inspections, and refactoring tools as a local IDE, but all of the files are hosted remotely and all of the language processing is done on the remote server,” the company said in a blog post....

In a blog post to cap off an almost two year saga, Ledger Donjon head of security research Jean-Baptiste Bédrune showed KPM was doing just that. “Kaspersky Password Manager used a complex method to generate its passwords. This method aimed to create passwords hard to break for standard password crackers. However, such method lowers the strength of the generated passwords against dedicated tools,” Bédrune wrote. One of the techniques used by KPM was to make letters that are not often used appear more frequently, which Bédrune said was probably an attempt to trick password cracking tools....

Due to the increase in devastation from fires, firefighters are also facing greater health risks after battling against blazes. To help with this problem, the Linux Foundation has announced that it will host Pyrrha – a solution created by AI-platform Prometeo that uses artificial intelligence and the internet of things to guard the safety of firefighters. Prometeo won IBM’s 2019 Call for Code Global Challenge after designing their platform, which monitors and acts on firefighter health and safety in real-time and over the long term....

Online shoppers across 14 global markets profiled in PayPal’s Borderless Commerce 2022 report currently tap their smartphones to make purchases, including 96% in China, 84% in Singapore, 81% in the UK, 78% in the US, 77% in Japan, and 69% in Australia. Conducted by Ipsos, the survey polled 14,000 respondents who made online purchases between December 2021 and January 2022. Across the board, 46% said they were more likely to buy from retailers that offered virtual or digital experiences....
