Indiana’s first lawsuit alleges TikTok has marketed its video-sharing platform as safe for teens, even though its algorithm “serves up abundant content” depicting drugs, sexual content and other inappropriate themes. The second lawsuit asserts that TikTok has deceived consumers by suggesting their personal information is protected from the Chinese government and Communist Party. “The TikTok app is a malicious and menacing threat unleashed on unsuspecting Indiana consumers by a Chinese company that knows full well the harms it inflicts on users,” Rokita said in a statement....

Apple on Wednesday released several security updates for the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and Mac lineup. More specifically, Apple released iOS 15.3, iPadOS 15.3, WatchOS 8.4, and macOS 12.12. The change log for each update only states that the update includes “bug fixes and security updates” but doesn’t mention any other changes or new features. “Success is not illegal,” US District Judge Yvonne Gonzales Rogers wrote. While the judge ruled that Apple is not an antitrust monopolist, she did find that Apple is engaging in anticompetitive conduct under California’s competition laws. Consequently, she issued the injunction blocking Apple’s App Store rules. In addition to addressing in-app purchases, the injunction says Apple can’t stop developers from communicating with customers via contact information that customers voluntarily submit when they set up an account within an app....
